can be used to pray. All too often, I can be praying and run rabbit trail prayers or worst start a grocery list in my head.
Although God already knows what is on our hearts, it is still important to present to Him accolades, gratitude, requests, fears, and hopes.
“Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise.”James 5:13
Using the same 5 bullet points, your prayers can be focused and cover important topics.
Here is an example:
“Father God, I am thankful for Your touch in my life. I know that every day Your Holy Spirit is guiding me, and may I be always sensitive to His leading to do Your work. I know Your love because of the man You have yoked me to. He is a hard worker for our family, and I pray that You protect him in his daily job and that each day he is blessed with someone to speak encouragement into his world. I ask You, Lord, to cover our sons and daughter-in-love too. May they all come to You more and please put a messenger into their lives to draw them to you. Thank You for giving me time to write. Fill my head with the right words and may the message always be Yours. I am grateful for the friends you have put into my life that teach me, build me up, and I can laugh with. I pray specifically for Sally and her knee surgery. I pray for Betty’s job search. I pray for the unspoken prayer that Anne gave me today. I petition all these prayers to You and lay them at Your feet. I see Your hand also in Love-Honor-Obey and I pray that I always stay in Your will. Please, Lord, bring those to me that need to know You, bring the women that love their husbands yet feel hopeless. Open their hearts Lord to receive the teaching instructed in Your Word. In Jesus’ name, I pray to you today. Amen”
Prayer dedicated, concise, and heartfelt. You do not have to have a prayer that is all flowery in words or that goes on and on for two hours. You can even pray all 5 points over the course of the day!
Start your GOD prayer before you get out of bed or as you brush your teeth.
Say your HUBBY prayer as you make his side of the bed.
Pray for your KIDS as you make their breakfast or dust their pictures.
Be grateful for your JOB (or better yet, that you can stay home with the children) while driving or vacuuming! Petition for prayers your FRIENDS have told you about and thank God for each of them. This can be done while making dinner.
Request for help in the MINISTRY He has placed on you at day’s end as you dress for bed.
The Bible tells us to pray constantly.
” Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Here are 5 prayers to keep you talking to the One who knows all the answers.
